Prick Up Your Ears 1987
Summary:
The true story of playwright Joe Orton and his lover, artist Kenneth Halliwell.
Review:
I wanted to like this, because there is no doubt that Joe Orton was an incredibly gifted man, but the character as we see him here was just so appallingly obnoxious that it's hard to feel any real sympathy for either him or Halliwell, both of whom were self centered, arrogant, spoiled and petulant.
Ortons death at that hands of his lover some how doesn't wring any sympathy from the viewer, in fact you feel that he probably should have done it much sooner!
